Taxi hailing inside an e-wallet, from competitor analysis to a 42-screen prototype.

Overview

E-Taxi is a taxi-hailing service built into an e-wallet app, aiming for a seamless, efficient booking experience.

Goal

The market is crowded, so I started by analysing competitors (their flows, standards and gaps) and built the approach from there:

  • Make booking a taxi as simple as possible.
  • Stay intuitive for new users as well as existing e-wallet users.

Process

  • Competitor analysis: points of parity (what users now expect as standard) versus points of difference.
  • Lo-fi wireframes: sketched and discussed in the develop stage of the double-diamond process.
  • Hi-fi wireframes: refined once the low-fidelity flow was agreed.
  • Hi-fi prototype: taxi apps are full of near-identical screens; the challenge was keeping one fluent journey across 42 screens.
